asexual reproduction the process of reproduction without sex cells.
D.N.A molecules in cells that make up chromosomes and serve as a "code" for an organisms traits.
dominant describes a gene or trait that will show its effect no matter the effect of the partner gene.
egg a female sex cell.
genes the parts of the DNA molecule that control the developement of special traits.
heredity the process by which traits are passed from parents to offspring.
mutation a change in the genetic code, causing an abnormality in the organism.
recessive describes a gene or trait that will be maskedby a dominant partner gene.
sexual reproduction the joining of 2 sex cells, a sperm and egg, to produce offspring.
sperm a male sex cell
RNA molecules in the cells that copy parts of DNA and use the code to build proteins outside the nucleus.
traits characteristics, which may be inherited, that identify organisms as individuals.
