Every time energy is converted from one form to another, entropy increases and useful energy is lost. Correct. Useful energy is lost when aphid fat reserves serve as an energy source for the development of the young aphids. If the parasite feeds on young aphids, it will have less energy available to fuel its own growth.
define entropy: A measure of the degree of disorganization of a system; how much energy in a system has become so dispersed (usually as heat) so that it is no longer available to do work. The higher the entropy, the more the disorder.
What is ATP? ATP is a complex nanomachine that serves as the primary energy currency of the cell
After an enzyme has catalyzed a reaction, It is unchanged and As soon as it releases the reactants, the enzyme is able to catalyze another reaction.
Metabolism may be defined as The sum total of all chemical reactions that occur in an organism
When a substrate binds to the active site of an enzyme The active site changes shape slightly to attach to the substrate and catalyze the reaction.
