What is the function of ribosomes? To direct the assembling of proteins in a cell.
What is the function of the endoplasmic reticulum? Passageway that connects the nucleus to the cell membrane.
What is the function of the mitochondria? To release usable energy from food.
What is the function of the Golgi Apparatus? collects chemicals from the cytoplasm, processes them and secretes them.
What is the function of the Vacuole? to hold water, waste and chemicals.
What is the function of the lysosomes? To dissolve away cellular structures that are no longer needed in the cell or organism.
What is the function of the Chloroplast? Made out of membranes that hold the green pigment chlorophyll.This organelle also helps with photosynthesis and is only found in plant cells.
What is the function of the cilia and flagella? These structures are tiny hairs on the outiside of the cell that allow the cell to move throughout the organism.
What is the function of the chromosomes? DNA molecules that has the plans and purpose of the cell.
What is the function of the nucleus? compact, round structure controls the center of the cell, surrounded by a nuclear membrane.
Prokaryote or Eukaryote: This cell has no nuclear membrane. Prokaryote
Prokaryote or EuKaryote: This cell has a nuclear membrane. Eukaryote
