QuestionAnswer
Sexual Reproduction a form of reproduction; combining genetic material in two different cells; producing an offspring.
Egg Haploid reproductive cell produced by female reproductive organs.
Sperm Haploid reproductive cell produced by the male reproductive organs.
Fertilization Fusion of a sperm cell with an egg cell to produce a zygote.
Zygote Diploid cell formed by the fusion of one egg and one sperm cell; develops into a new organism.
Meiosis The division of a cell and its nucleus that produces haploid daughter cells.
Diploid A eukaryotic cell that contains a complete set of homologous chromosome pairs.
Haploid A eukaryotic cell containing only one chromosome from each homologous pair.
Eukaryote A cell with a nucleus and other organelles
