Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis

What is photosynthesis? Where light is turned into glucose for the plant.
What is the equation for photosynthesis? water+carbon dioxide--->glucose+oxygen
What is stage one of photosynthesis? A light dependent reaction.
Where does stage one of photosynthesis take place? The Thylakoid.
What is necessary in order for light dependent reactions to occur? Light and water.
What is stage two of photosynthesis? When dark reactions occur. AKA: Calvin Cycle.
What does stage two of photosynthesis produce? Glucose or Sugar
In light dependent reactions what molecule is "split" to produce hydrogen atoms and oxygen gas? Water
What is Cellular respiration (Aerobic Respiration)? It uses oxygen to produce glucose.
What is Glycolysis? The splitting of glucose. It makes 2 pyruvic acid which will go into the mitochondria if oxygen is present.
What is Anaerobic respiration (Fermentation)? Type of respiration that happens when oxygen is absent.
How does anaerobic respiration take place in animal cells? Glycolysis---->Pyruvic acid---->lactic acid
What are some symptoms of anaerobic respiration? Soreness.
How does anaerobic respiration take place in plant or yeast cells? Glycolysis---> pyruvic acid---> Carbon Dioxide/alcohol.
