vocab words part a

QuestionAnswer
organic chemistry the study of all compounds that contain bonds between carbon atoms.
monomers small unit that cam join with other small units to form polymers.
polymers large compound formed from combinations of many monomers
Polymerization a process formed by macromolecules in which large compounds are joined together by smaller ones.
simple formula vs. structural formula All the molecules have the same formula. The atoms are arranged differently in space
Carbohydrates compounds made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms, usually in a ratio of 1-2-1
monosaccharides single sugar molecules
