Immune system terms to know
| Question | Answer |

| Virus | A non living thing that can get in your cells, reproduce, and make you very sick. |
| White Blood Cell | Fights invaders (bacteria, viruses, etc) in your body. |
| Interferon | Gets in the way of invaders and helps protect cells |
| Antibody | Marks a cell that has a virus or bacteria invading it. This cell can then be destroyed. |
| Happy Birthday 2x | How long you should wash your hands. |
| Vaccinations | Injections of weakened viruses into your body that prepare your body to stop viruses and keep you from getting sick. |
| Into your sleeve | Where you should cough to stop the spread of bacteria and viruses. |
| Airborne | Viruses that can move through the air, like influenza |
| Blood borne pathogens | Diseases/Viruses that are transmitted by blood. Examples are hepatitis and AIDS. |
| Immune system | Different cells and organs in your body that work together to fight invaders |
| Bleach, Alcohol, Ammonia | Cleaning agents that can kill bacteria and inactivate viruses. |
| Young people | Do not have as many defenses against invaders into the body. |
| Mutations | When viruses or bacteria change (new flu viruses each year) |
