how group behavior helps individuals and species survive and reproduce

| flocking | a group of birds staying together and moving as one group for protection and finding food |
| schooling | a group of fish swimming together in an organized way for safety and easier movement |
| herding | a group of animals living and moving together for protection and survival |
| hunting | the act of searching for, chasing, and catching food |
| migrating | moving from one place to another, usually during certain seasons, to find food, water, or better living conditions |
| swarming | a large number of animals, usually insects, moving together as a group |
| kinship | a relationship between organisms that are related to one another, often members of the same family |
| social insects | insects that live and work together in organized groups, such as ants, bees, and termites |
| group behavior | actions performed by organisms working together as a group to improve survival and reproduction |
| pheromones | chemical signals released by an organism that affect the behavior of other members of the same species |
