check register A separate form on which the depositor keeps a record of deposits and checks.
Signature card A card, kept by a bank, that shows the signatures of all individuals authorized to draw checks against the account.
Joint account A bank account that is used by two or more people.
Service charge A fee a bank charges for handling a checking account.
Interest The fee a bank pays for the use your money.
Transaction An activity affecting a bank account and performed by the account holder or his/her agent.
Overdraft withdrawing excessive funds, resulting in a negative bank balance.
Outstanding Checks Checks that have been written, but have not yet been presented to the bank for payment.
Stop Payment When a payee demands that the bank not honor a certain check written by the payee.
