Body structure round worms, unsegmented, cylidrical (round in TS), covered by a tough, flexible cuticle that is moulted during growth, tapered ends
Pseudocoel fluid-filled primary body cavity that acts with the body wall as a hydrostatic skeleton
Muscles and movement longitudinal muscles but no circular body wall muscles, therefore side-to-side whip-like movement
Posterior end female = anus at tapered end male = cloaca (anus + sperm)
Female TS (ascaris) outer cuticle, epidermis, longitudinal body wall muscles, pseudocoel, intestine, uterus and ovary
Male TS (ascaris) outer cuticle, epidermis, longitudinal body wall muscles, pseudocoel, testes (round), vas deferens (ovularish)
Nematode vs Polychaete Nematode is unsegmented, cylindrical with tapered ends and a pseudocoel body cavity, polychaete is segmented with distinct head and coelomate body cavity, also has circular muscles
