| What does cleaning the teeth remove? | Plaque, calculus, and stain |
| What is plaque | A sticky colorless film of bacteria and food particles that forms on teeth and can cuase cavities or gum disease |
| What is Calculus | A hardened form of dental plaque |
| How is calculus formed? | It develops when soft bacterial plaque is left on teeth and mineralizes over time through contact with saliva. Once hardened, it becomes strongly bonded to the enamel and cannot be removed by brushing or flossing alone. |
