Freshwater Biomes

QuestionAnswer
What is Freshwater? water that is in lakes, streames, rivers, and ponds that does not contain any ocean water or salt.
what is saltwater? a water that is in oceans and contains a large amounts of salt.
What is a Littoral zone? the area of water close to the edge of a lake, pond, or river.
What is a open water zone? The area of water where it extends from the littoral zone.
What is a deep water zone? Where no sunlight reaches the water.
What is a wetland? An area of land that is somtimes underwater.
What is a marsh? A treeless wetland ecosystem where plants grow.
What is a swamp? A wet land ecosystem in wich trees and vines grow.
