| Pollution | Harmful substances added to air, water, or land that damage the environment and living things. |
| Distribution | How natural resources are spread out in different places on Earth. |
| Mitigation | Actions taken to reduce or lessen damage to the environment. |
| Impact | The effect or change that something causes in the environment. |
| Habitat Destruction | When natural environments where plants and animals live are damaged or destroyed. |
| Deforestation | cutting down a large number of trees in an area |
| Per capita | the amount of something per person |
| Depletion | using up a resource faster than it can be replaced |
| conservation | protecting and saving natural resources so they last longer |
| Population | the number of people (or living things) living in a certain place |
