duty/rules based approach the action that follows the rules, regardless of the consequences
virtues based approach the action that a morally good person would do/choose
beneficence the action that maximises benefits and minimises risks/harm
ethical concept a sense of right or wrong based upon morals and beliefs (5 concepts: integrity, justice, beneficence, maleficence and respect)
non-maleficence the action that causes NO harm (or if harm is caused it should not be disproportionate to the benefits
consequences based approach the action that produces the greatest number of positive outcomes and minimises negative outcomes
economic factor impact of funds and money
legal factor relevant laws, rules and processes
respect the action that honours an individual/group’s rights, feelings, needs and values
social factor influence of society on social norms
political factor relevant impact from governing bodies (local, state, national, international)
ethical approach a sense of right or wrong based upon morals and beliefs (3 approaches: consequences based, duty/rules based and virtues based)
justice the action that treats everyone fairly and equally
