Organization of the Human Body/Anatomical (Directional) Terms

QuestionAnswer
What is the order of biological organization in the human body? Atoms → molecules → cells → tissues → organs → organ systems → organisms
What does superior mean? Above or toward the head.
What does inferior mean? Below or further from the head.
What does anterior mean? In front; toward the front of the body.
What does posterior mean? Behind; toward the back of the body.
What does proximal mean? Closer to the attachment point of a limb to the trunk.
What does distal mean? Further from the attachment point of a limb to the trunk.
