Aerobic respiration Aerobic respiration is one in which oxygen is required for it to take place.
Role of aerobic respiration Breaks down glucose in the presence of oxygen to produce large amounts of ATP (energy)

Anaerobic respiration Process of respiration where glucose is breaking down without oxygen
