TermDefinition
Cell cycle The regular sequence of growth e and a division, that cells undergo.
Interphase This stage of the cell cycle that takes place before the division of occurs.
Replication The process by which a cell makes a copy of the DNA in its nucleus.
Mitosis The stage of the cell cycle during which the cell’s nucleus divides into two new nuclei, and one copy of the DNA is distributed into each daughter cell
Chromosomes A doubled rod of condensed chromatin contains DNA that carries genetic information.
Cytokinesis The final stage of the cell cycle in which the cells cytoplasm divides distributing the organelles into each of the two new cells
What takes place during the three stages of the cell cycle? Interphase, Mitosis, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Cytokinesis, and Telophase.

Explain DNA replication, and how it accounts for the way it copies itself. DNA replication is a highly regulated process by which DNA makes an exact copy of itself, using the original strands as templates to ensure accurate transmission of genetic information.
