| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Cell cycle | The regular sequence of growth and division that cells undergo. |
| Interface | THE stage of the cell cycle that takes place before cell division occurs. |
| Replication | The processes by which a cell makes a copy of the DNA in its nucleus |
| Mitosis | The stage of the cell cycle during the cells nucleus divides into two nuclei and one copy of the DNA is distributed into each data cell. |
| Chromosomes | A double rod of condensed chromosome contains DNA that carries genetic information |
| Cytokinesis | The final stage of the cell cycle in which the cell cytoplasm divides distributing the new organelle to each of the two new cells. |
| What takes place in the three stages of the cell cycle | The cell copy of its DNA and its centrioles chromatin in the nucleus, condenses to form chromosomes, the chromosome lineup at the center of the cell, the centromeres split the chromosomes, begin to stretch out centromeres split splits in 2 |
| Draw and label of cell cycle | Interface, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis. |
| Explain DNA replication how accounts for the way it copies itself | The DNA is identical |
| Selectively permeable | A property of cell membrane that allows some substances to pass through while others cannot |
| Cause we’re trying to hear | |
| Passive transport | The movement of materials to a cell membrane without using energy |
| Diffusion | The process by which the molecules move from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration |
| Osmosis | The diffusion of water molecules through a selectively permeable membrane |
| Active transport | The movement of materials through a cell membrane using cellular energy |
| Explain how materials move in and out of the cells | Some substance can move out of this in and out of the cell membrane and some can’t |
| Know the different types of membrane transport on how each works | summer hide allowance and others are low to high |
| Explain the difference between facilitated diffusion and diffusion. | High to low needs ahelper good afternoon through a protein |
