Lesson 3
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Cell cycle | The regular sequence of growth and division that cells undergo. |
| Interphase | Cell grows, makes a copy of its DNA, and prepares to divide into two cells. |
| Replication | When the cell makes an exact copy of the DNA in its nucleus. |
| Mitosis | Is the stage during which cell’s nucleus divides into two new nuclei |
| Chromosomes | The threadlike chromatin in the nucleus condenses to form double-rod structures. |
| Cytokinesis | The cytoplasm divides the organelles are distributed into each of the two cells. |
| What takes place during the three stages of the cell cycle? | Interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis. |
| Draw and label the cell cycle | See notes |
| Explain DNA replication and how it accounts for the way it copies itself. | Growing, Copying DNA, preparing for division, mitosis, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase. Cytokinesis , Animal Cells, Plant Cells. |
