TermDefinition
Cell wall A cell wall is a rigid wall around the cell membrane.
Cell membrane The cell membrane is a wall on the inside if the cell wall and acts as a strainer letting things in and out.
Nucleus The nucleus is something that contains the genetic material.
Organelle Specialized structures in a living cell.
Ribosomes Ribosomes make protein for the cell.
Cytoplasm Cytoplasm is a jellylike substance in a cell that surround the organelles and nucleus.
Mitochondria The mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cells.
ER The ER are the roads of the cell that move materials around the cell.
Golgi apparatus Folded membrane within the cytoplasm.
Vacuole Organelle that stores substances.
Lysomes Break down molecules/cleanup crew.
Multicellular Many cells.
Unicellular One celled organism.
Tissue Group of similar cells.
Organ Part of an organism that is self-contained.
Organ system A group of organisms that work together.
specialized cells Cells that have a unique structure.
What is inside of a nucleus Genetic material/ DNA.
What's the difference between plant and animal cells. Plant cells have a cell wall, animal cells have a bigger vacuole.
Why does the ER make ribosomes important The ER make ribosomes which make protein for the cell.
