QuestionAnswer
Cell wall surrounds the cell membrane and separates cell from the environment
Cell membrane outer layer of cell, protects the cell, lets what enters and exits the cell
Nucleus In a cell it is a large oval organelle that contains the cells genetic material in the form of DNA and controls the cells activties
organelle Any of a number of organized or specialized structures within a living cell.
Ribosome small grain shaped organelle in the cytoplasm of a cell that produces proteins.
Cytoplasm Thick fluid region of a cell located inside cell membrane or between the cell membrane and nucleus
Mitochondria A powerhouse in a cell. generates most of the cells energy a vital organelle in eukaryote cells
Endoplasmic reticulum A passageway that carry proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another
Golgi apparatus It receives materials from a ER and transports materials to smaller parts of the cell
vacuole a sac like organelle that stores water food and other materials
Lysosome An organelle that has chemicals that break down food and particles and worn out cell parts
Multicellular Organisms that are composed of many cells.
Unicellular single celled organisms
Tissue A group of similar cells that perform a specific function
Organ a body structure that is composed of different kinds of tissues that work together
Organ system a group of specialized organs that work together to perform a common vital body function
Specialized cells These things like nerve cells carry information throughout the human body
division of labor Breaking down big jobs to complex smaller jobs
what is inside the nucleus the nucleolus, nuclear envelope, chromatin, and pores
Difference between animal and plant cell structures Plant cells are enclosed by cell wall, have chloroplasts, large center vacuoles, plant cell wall contains cellulose and look like small boxes. animal cells have no cell wall, no chloroplasts, small vacuoles, no cell walls, have lysosomes
What the Endoplasmic reticulum does for ribosomes the ER provides proteins and other materials for songs sometimes they’re on the ER sometimes they’re in cytoplasm
Where ribosomes are made and why they are important They are made in the Nucleolus and there important because they are the factories to produce proteins
