Cell membrane A cell structure that controls which substances can enter or leave the cell
Nucleus A cell structure that contain nuclei acids the chemical instructions that direct all the cells activities
Organelle A tiny structure that carries out a specific function in a cell
Ribosomes A small grain -like structure in the cytoplasm of a cell where protein are made
Cytoplasm The region between the cell membrane and the nucleus in an organism without a nucleus the region located inside a cell membrane
Mitochondria A rod -shaped structures the convert energy in food molecules to energy the cell can use to carry out its functions
ER A cell structure that forms a maze of passageways in which proteins and other materials are carried from one part of the cell to another
Golgi apparatus A structure in a cell that receives proteins and other materials from the endoplasmic reticulum packages them and distributes them to other parts of the cell
Vacuole A sack -like organelle that stores water, food and other material
Lysosomes A small round cell structure containing chemicals that break down large food particles into smaller ones
Multicellular More then one cell
Unicellular one cell
Tissue a group of similar cells that perform a specific foundation
Organ A body structure that is composed of different kinds of tissue that works together
Organ System A group of organs that work together to perform a major function
Specialized cells A group of cells that perform a group of functions
