Describe what a cell does A cell provides the body with structure, takes in nutrients from food, converts them into energy, and performs specialized functions to keep the organism alive.
State with the cell theory says The cell theory states that all living organisms are composed of one or more cells, the cell is the basic unit of life, and all cells arise from pre-existing cells.
Name the scientists and their discoveries Robert Hooke first discovered dead cells in 1965 by observing a cork slice with his microscope. Anton von Leeuwenhoek was the first to discover living cells.
