Tropism A plants growth response toward or away from the stimulus
Hormone A chemical that affects a plants growth and development
Photoperiodism A plants response to seasonal changes in the length of day and night
Critical night length The number of hours of darkness that determines whether or not a plant will flower
Dormancy When plants stop growing for a period of time
3 Stimuli that produce plant production Touch, light, and gravity
An example of positive and negative tropism If it grows toward the stimulus, it’s positive. If it goes away from the stimulus, its negative
What triggers a plant to a flower The amount of darkness a plant receives determines that.
Why dormancy is important It helps plants survive freezing temperatures.
