QuestionAnswer
atom The basic unit of matter
ions The positively and negatively charged atoms,
molecules the smallest unit in most compounds.
polarity positive or negative character.
nucleus The center of the atom
element substance consisting entirely of one type of atom
compounds a substance formed by the chemical combination of two or more elements in definite proportions.
van der walls forces When molecules are close together, a slight attraction can develop between the oppositely charges regions of nearby molecules.
electron negatively charged partical
