4th period science

TermDefinition
photosynthesis process of making energy in autotrophs
What are the three main characteristics of all plants multicellular, autotrophs, and cell walls
Tissue group of similar cells that preform a specific function
Chloroplast An organelle in the cells of plants and some other organisms that capture energy from sunlight and changes it to an energy from cells that can use and making food
Vacuole A sack like organism stores, water, food, and other materials
Cuticle The waxy waterproof layer that covers the leaves and stems of most plants
vascular tissue The internal transparent tissue in some plants that is made up of tube like structures that carry water, food and mineral
Organelle A tiny cell structure that carries out a specific function with a cell
Chromatin Contain genetic material the instructions for directing the cells functions
Mitochondrion garage sale structure that convert energy and food molecules to energy the cell can use to carry out it functions
Endoplasmic recticulum A cell structure that forms a maze of passage ways in which proteins and other materials are carried from one part of the cell to another
Lysosomes A small round cell structure containing chemical chemicals that breakdown large food particles into smaller ones
Golgi body structure a cell that receives proteins and other nearly formed materials from the endoplasmic ilium packages them, and distributes them to other parts of the cell
List the two things that plate needs in the two things it makes during photosynthesis Nutrients and water, Food, oxygen
What are two reasons why cell walls are important for plans 1. Protects 2. Support
List the five things that plant needs to survive on land Water nutrients, retain water, support their bodies, transport materials, and reproduce
