Bio Cell Energy

Bio Cell Energy SC standards HN 9th grade

QuestionAnswer
What do plants get energy/food from? photosynthesis
What is the first stage of photosynthesis? H20+Light=ATP/NADPH+02
What is the first stage of photosynthesis called? Light Dependent Reaction
What is the second stage of photosynthesis? CO2+ATP/NADPH=NADP/ADP + GLUCOSE
What is the second stage of photosynthesis called? Light Independent Reaction/ Calvin Cycle
Where does the first stage of photosynthesis occur? Thykaloid
Where does the second stage of photosynthesis occur? Stroma
What is a difference between LIR and LDR? One needs light and the other doesn't; inputs and outputs
What is Rubisco? an enzyme that makes CO2 into glucose/sugars
What is the photosynthesis chemical formula? 6H20+6CO2+Light=C6H1206+6O2
What is the stroma? a guard cell that regulates gas/water exchange
What is the function of the stroma? To regulate gas exchange and water loss
What are reactants? the inputs of a chemical reaction
What are products? the outputs of a chemical reaction
What are the 2 parts of chloroplasts? Thylakoid and stroma
What is an AUTOtroph? a organism that produces its own food. ex-plants
What is a anabolic reaction? a chemical reaction that combines small molecules
What is photolysis? to create with light
How can you speed up photosynthesis? increase light/co2/water
3 ways photosynthesis can be accelerated/slowed down Amount of water/Co2/light and temperature
What is the role of chlorophyll? To absorb lights
Why are plants green? the chlorophyll reflects green light and absorbs the other colors
Why does temperature not plateau? Temp. denatures the rubisco enzyme

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
