Species Diversity
| Term | Definition |

| biodiversity | The variety of different living things in an area, including plants, animals, and microorganisms. |
| populations | Groups of the same kind of organism living in the same place at the same time. |
| environment | Everything that surrounds a living thing, including both living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) parts. |
| finite | Something that has limits or can run out, like clean water or space in an ecosystem. |
| abundance | The amount or number of something in an area, like how many rabbits live in a forest. |
| species | A group of living things that are similar and can reproduce to have offspring that can also reproduce. |
| predation | When one animal (the predator) hunts and eats another animal (the prey). |
| disease | An illness or condition that affects how an organism's body works, often caused by bacteria, viruses, or other harmful agents. |
