Species Diversity

TermDefinition
biodiversity The variety of different living things in an area, including plants, animals, and microorganisms.
populations Groups of the same kind of organism living in the same place at the same time.
environment Everything that surrounds a living thing, including both living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) parts.
finite Something that has limits or can run out, like clean water or space in an ecosystem.
abundance The amount or number of something in an area, like how many rabbits live in a forest.
species A group of living things that are similar and can reproduce to have offspring that can also reproduce.
predation When one animal (the predator) hunts and eats another animal (the prey).
disease An illness or condition that affects how an organism's body works, often caused by bacteria, viruses, or other harmful agents.
