| Biospere | all living organism. |
| Ecosystem | interactions of living organisms and nonliving factors within a defined area |
| community | all living populations that are found and interact within an ecosystem |
| poulation | living organisms of one species that live and iteract within an ecosystem |
| abiotic | non-living factors that influence living organism. ex: water, temp, soil, atmosphere |
| biotic | the living organisms found within an ecosystem |
| biodiversity | measure of richness found within an area |
| energy pyramid | model showing the flow of energy in an ecosystem from poducers to consumers |
| autotrophs | organisms (producers) that make their own food by using photosynthesis |
| heterotrophs | Organisms that take preformed nutrients by ingesting, absorbing or engulfing. |
| food web | interconnections that show feeding relationships of organsims |
| niche | the realized role that an organism fills with an ecosystem |
| herbivores | An organism that feeds exclusively on plant material example: a deer |
