Cultúr na hÉireann

Dréimire Caib 3 2025

QuestionAnswer
Ireland is renowned for its vibrant culture. Tá clú agus cáil ar Éirinn mar gheall ar an gcultúr bríomhar atá aici.
Irish music and dance are recognized worldwide. Aithnítear ceol agus rince na hÉireann ar fud na cruinne.
The traditional sports of this country are flourishing. Tá spóirt thraidisiúnta na tíre seo faoi bhláth.
Our literature, including prose, poetry, and drama, is among the most vibrant in the world. Tá ár litríocht, idir phrós, fhilíocht agus drámaíocht, ar an litríocht is beomhaire ar domhan.
As a community, we have always respected our valuable culture and we are all richer because of it. Mar phobal, bhí meas againn riamh ar an gcultúr luachmhar atá againn agus is saibhre muid ar fad dá thairbhe sin.
There is no doubt that traditional music is very strong in Ireland. Níl aon dabht ach go bhfuil an ceol traidisiúnta an-láidir in Éirinn.
Both young and old play music. Seinneann idir óg agus aosta ceol.
The wonderful thing about traditional music is that it is constantly being reshaped. An rud iontach faoin gceol traidisiúnta ná go bhfuil sé á athmhúnlú de shíor.
Young people are putting their own modern twist on the music and that is why it is so appealing, so lively, and so vibrant. Tá na daoine óga ag cur casadh nua-aimseartha dá gcuid féin ar an gceol agus is é sin an fáth a bhfuil sé chomh mealltach, chomh beo agus chomh bríomhar sin.
There are few places in the country where you won't hear traditional music. Is beag áit sa tír a rachaidh tú nach gcloisfidh tú ceol traidisiúnta.
The same is true for traditional Irish sports – hurling and Gaelic football. Tá an scéal amhlaidh i gcás spóirt thraidisiúnta na hÉireann – iománaíocht agus peil ghaelach.
Who would believe that the third largest stadium in Europe, Croke Park, is dedicated to Gaelic games. Cé a chreidfeadh go bhfuil an tríú staid is mó san Eoraip, Páirc an Chrócaigh, tiomanta do na cluichí gaelacha.
Gaelic games are a central part of Irish culture and are part of our identity. Is cuid lárnach iad na cluichí gaelacha de chultúr na hÉireann agus is cuid dár bhféiniúlacht iad.
They bring people together, provide entertainment, and are an important part of Irish life. Tarraingíonn siad daoine le chéile, cuireann siad siamsaíocht ar fáil agus is cuid thábhachtach de shaol na hÉireann iad.
The Irish language itself is an important aspect of Irish culture. Tá an Ghaeilge féin ina gné thábhachtach de chultúr na hÉireann.
There are one and a half million people in the country who can speak the language, according to the latest census. Tá milliún go leith daoine sa tír atá in ann an teanga a labhairt, de réir an daonáirimh is déanaí.
The folklore and history of the community are intertwined in the language. Tá seanchas agus stair an phobail fite fuaite sa teanga.
The Irish language has its own place on social media. Tá a háit féin ag an nGaeilge ar na meáin shóisialta.
Irish-medium education is flourishing. Tá an ghaelscolaíocht faoi bhláth.
Thousands of young people attend Irish courses in the Gaeltacht every year. Déanann na mílte daoine óga freastal ar chúrsaí Gaeilge sa Ghaeltacht gach bliain.
We have had some of the best writers in the world, such as Joyce, Máirtín Ó Cadhain, William Butler Yeats, and Séamus Heaney, to name just a few. Bhí cuid de na scríbhneoirí ab fhearr ar domhan againn, leithéidí Joyce, Máirtín Ó Cadhain, William Butler Yeats agus Séamus Heaney, gan ach cúpla duine a lua.
Our music, our dances, our literature, our games are alive and will be for a long time to come. Tá ár gceol, ár ndamhsaí, ár litríocht, ár gcluichí beo beathach agus beidh go ceann i bhfad eile.
