Ecology Intro

TermDefinition
Ecology is the branch of science that examines the relationships organisms have to each other and to their environment.
Organism a living thing
Habitat An environment that provides the things a specific organism needs to live grow and reproduce
biotic factors living or once living parts of an ecosystem
abiotic factors non living parts of an ecosystem
Populations all the members of one species living in a particular area
Communities All the different populations that live together in an area.
Ecosystems The community of organisms that live in a particular area along with the non living environment.
Biomes groups of ecosystems with similar climates and organisms found throughout the world
