Alpha Probacteria Rickettsia Gram negative, obligate intracellular, usually pathogenic, insect vectors like ticks
Beta Probacteria Thiobacillus sulfur oxidizing, can use hydrogen & sulfur as electron donors and produce sulfate as waste
Gamma Probacteria Francisellales/Pseudomonas obgligate anarobes, common in soil & water for breakdown of waste
Gamma Probacteria Enteric Bacteria common in intestines of humans & animals, E. Coli is in this group as is samonella
Delta Probacteria Desulfovibrio Sulfate reducers, anaerobe
Epsilonproteobacteria Helicobacter Stomach ulcers, withstand high acid environment
Non-Probacteria Gram Negatives Cyanobacteriales photosynthetic anarobes
Nonprobacteria Gram Positives Clostridia can produce botulinum toxin, tetnus
Gram Positives Mycoplasms lack cell wall and have variable shapes
Gram Positives Bacillus endospore forming rods found in soil, anthrax
Low G&C Gram Positive Staphyloccus grape-like clusters of cocci, respond positive catalase test, halophiles, toxic shock syndrome
High G&C Gram Positive Mycobacterium acid-fast cell wall, tuberculosis, leprosy
Chlamydiae Chlamydia no peptoglydican, gram neg., requires mamilian cell, body attaches, enters forming vacuole
