Urinary System

TermDefinition
Excretory System a group of organs in a living organism that work together to remove waste products and excess water from the body
Kidneys a pair of organs that filter blood, remove waste, and regulate chemicals in the body
Ureters thin tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder
Bladder a muscular, balloon-shaped organ in the lower abdomen that stores urine
Urethra The tube through which urine leaves the body.
Liver A large organ located in the upper abdomen. The liver cleanses the blood and aids in digestion by secreting bile.
Lungs One of a pair of organs in the chest that supplies the body with oxygen, and removes carbon dioxide from the body.
Skin the body's largest organ, made of layers of tissue that protect the body and regulate temperature
Dehydrated a condition that occurs when the body loses too much water and other fluids
