| Brachiation | Movement accomplished by swinging arms from one hold to another |
| Bipedalism | The ability to comfortably walk, run or hop upright on two feet |
| Antibody | A blood protein produced to fight a specific antigen |
| Vestigial organ | An organ that is thought to be a degenerated remnant from an evolutionary ancestor |
| Mechanical digestion | The physical breakdown of food particles into smaller sizes |
| Chemical digestion | The breakdown of food particles by enzymes into smaller molecules, eventually becoming the simple macromolecules that can be absorbed into the blood |
| Hominid | A member of the family Hominidae, which includes great apes and humans |
| Hominin | A member of the sub-group of hominids that only includes those that are bipedal |
| Imago Dei | The image of God, found only in people |
