Definitions of Dental Waste
| Term | Definition |

| General Waste | Non-hazardous waste that is safe for regular disposal, such as paper towels, gloves, and packaging materials. |
| Regulated Waste | Includes materials contaminated with blood or bodily fluids, such as gauze saturated with blood, extracted teeth, and sharps (needles, scalpel blades, and broken glass). Regulates Waste requires special handling of disposal. |
| Hazardous Waste | Includes materials that pose a risk to the environment or hukan health, such as lead foil from x-ray films, certain disinfectant , and amalgam waste containing mercury. |
