TermDefinition
Biodiversity the variety of all living things in a particular area, including plants, animals, and microorganisms
Genetic Diversity the variety of genes within a species,
Species Diversity the variety of different species present in a particular area, including not only the number of species but also how abundant each species is within that area
Ecological Diversity the variety of different ecosystems present in a given area, including the different types of habitats, niches, and ecological processes that exist within those ecosystems
Resilience the ability to adapt to and recover from difficult situations
Natural Selection a process where organisms with traits better suited to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing on those advantageous traits to their offspring, causing a population to change over time.
