| Hormone | A chemical that affects how the plant grows and develops! |
| Photoperiodism | A plant’s response to seasonal changes in the length of night or day! |
| Critical night length | The number of hours of darkness that determines whether a plant will flower or not! |
| Dormancy | A period when an organism’s growth or activity stops! |

| Examples of positive and negative tropism | Positive: the plant grows toward the stimulus Negative: a plant grows away from the stimulus |
