Hydrophilic LOVES water, attracts and absorbs water
Hydrophobic HATES water, repels water
Active Transport The process of moving molecules across a cell membrane from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration. This process requires energy and is the opposite of diffusion.
Passive Transport The movement of small, uncharged molecules across a cell membrane without the use of energy. It's a type of passive transport, which means it doesn't require energy from the cell.
Homeostasis The body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment
