Classifying Plants

Nonvascular plant Plants that lack true vascular tissues
Rhizoid A thin root like structure anchor the moss and absorb water and nutrients
Vascular Plant Plants with true vascular tissue
Phloem The vascular tissue through which food moves
Xylem Xylem roots absorb water and minerals from the soil
Frond Fern leaves divided into many smaller parts that look like small leaves
Pollen Tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells
Seed Structure that contains a small plant inside a protective covering
Gymnosperm Seed plat that produces naked seeds
Angiosperm Plant that produces seeds enclosed in a protective fruit
