| Non vascular plants | Plants that have no true vascular tissue |
| Rhizoid | Thin rootlike structure that anchor moss to the ground and absorb water and nutrients |
| Vascular plants | Plants that have true vascular tissue |
| Phloem | The vascular tissue through which food moves |
| Xylem | The vascular tissue through which water and minerals move |
| Frond | The leaf of a fern |
| Pollen | Tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells |
| Seed | A structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering |
| Gymnosperm | A seed plant that produces “naked” seeds |
| Angiosperm | A flowering plant that produces seeds enclosed in a protective fruit |
| Cotyledon | A leaf produced by the embryo of a seed plant that sometimes stores food |
| Monocot | An angiosperm that has only one seed leaf |
| Dicot | An angiosperm that produce seeds with two seed leaves |
