What is the function of a dialysis machine? To remover urea and excess salts and water from the blood
What is the structure and function of the dialysis machine? It is partially permeable with pores which allows glucose, salts, water, urea and amino acids to pass through
How does the blood and dialysis fluid flowing in different direction help the process? It helps maintain a concentration gradient along a whole length of dialysis membrane
why does the dialysis fluid need to be changed regularly? to maintain a concentration gradient of urea
What doesnt move into the dialysis fluid and why? Red blood cells and large proteins because they are too big to fit through the pores
