Autotroph Organism that makes its own food
Heterotroph organism that must consume other organisms for energy
ATP useable cellular energy
Chloroplast the organelle that performs photosynthesis
Chlorophyll the green pigment that helps plants absorb sunlight
Photosynthesis performed by autotrophs, the process of making sugar from sunlight
Pigment group of molecules that help plants absorb light
Cellular respiration the aerobic process of making ATP (cellular energy) from breaking down the carbohydrates
mitochondria the organelle that performs cellular respiration and transforms energy from carbohydrates to ATP
Fermentation the anaeribic process that produces less energy for cells when NO OXYGEN is present
