Dental Images and Dental Radiographer

Most important use of dental Images is detection of disease, lesions, and condition of teeth and bone and jaw
Dental radiographer person who positions, exposes, and processes dental x-ray receptors
Operator competence is maintained by education courses/ lectures, studying books and techniques
The benefit of disease detection outweighs risk of small doses of x-radiation
Dental image contains more info than a written record
Missing, extra, and impacted teeth can be found on dental image
Dental radiographer may be assigned to monitor and fulfill quality control procedures
Patient and operator must be primary concerns of dental radiographer protection
