FLUID MOSAIC MODEL WHAT? The fluid mosaic model separates two environments inside and outside the cell.
WHAT DOES THE FLUID MOSAIC MODEL CONSIST OF? The fluid mosaic model consists of a phospholipid bilayer that forms the basis for membranes. Mosaic cells have membranes with information embedded in them.
WHAT IS THE PHOSPHOLIPID BILAYER? The phospholipid bilayer is a lipid that involves a phosphate gap, does not dissolve well in water, has hydrophobic tails that typically flow away from water, and has charged molecules that are hydrophilic that typically go towards water
WHAT DO HYDROPHILIC MOLECULES INCLUDE? Hydrophilic molecules include chains of sugar that helps keep good cells and gets rid of bad cells, proteins, transmembrane proteins, and glycolipids.
WHAT IS THE MAIN FUNCTION OF THE SKELETAL SYS? The main function of the skeletal system is to support, protect, move, and store blood cell reproduction and energy storage.
HOW MANY BONES IN ADULTHOOD DOES THE HUMAN SKELETON CONSIST OF? The structure of the skeletal system is made up of the bones which is the human skeleton consisting of 206 bones in adulthood. The two main groups are the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton.
THE AXIAL SEKELETON INCLUDES? The axial skeleton includes the skull, vertebral column, and ribcage.
THE APPENDICULAR SKELETON INCLUDES? The appendicular skeleton includes the limbs and girdles. The cartilage is next, which is a flexible connective tissue found in joints.
WHAT ARE JOINTS? The joints are structures that connect bones to one another, making it easier for movement and flexibility. Joints can be classified as fibrous, cartilaginous, or synovial.
WHAT ARE LIGAMENTS? Lastly the ligaments which are tough elastic bands of connective tissue that connect bones to other bones.
