Photosynthesis Process of making food/glucose using water, CO2 and energy from the sun,
Cellular Respiration Process of glucose getting oxidized to create ATP, CO2 and water
Carbon Dioxide Absorbed into a plant as a reactant for photosynthesis; given off as a product of respiration
Oxygen Released from a plant as a product after photosynthesis; used as a reactant in cellular respiration
Water Absorbed through the roots of a plant to be used as a reactant during photosynthesis; given off as a product of respiration
Glucose Sugar/food that is made during photosynthesis and used during cellular respiration
Autotroph Organism that makes its own food
Heterotroph Organism that must consume other organisms to get energy
Reactant raw materials used in a chemical reaction (think: ingredients)
Product End result of a chemical reaction, what is made at the end
Chloroplast Site of photosynthesis, found in plant cells only
Chlorophyll Green pigment that absorbs sunlight
Mitochondria Site of cellular respiration, found in all eukaryotic cells
