Enzyme Protein that speeds up a chemical reaction
Substrate the substance on which an enzyme acts
Active Site The part of the enzyme where the substrate binds and the reaction occurs
activation energy the amount of energy needed to start a reaction
reactants what goes into a reaction
products what comes out of a reaction
pH measurement of how acidic or basic something is
acids substance with a pH less than 7
base substance with a pH greater than 7
chemical reaction the chemical change of one set of chemicals into another set of chemicals
