| Aerobic Respiration | The process by which cells break down glucose to form energy in the form of ATP from food. Glucose is broken down into CO2 and 02 in the presence of O2 to release energy in the form of ATP. |
| Where does Aerobic and Anaerobic Respiration occur? | Aerobic : Mitochondria Anaerobic: Cytoplasm |
| Formula for Aerobic respiration | Glucose + Lactic acid → Carbon Dioxide+ water + Energy(ATP) or C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O |
| Anaerobic Respiration | Allows the cell to produce and maintain ATP dependent cell processes, even in the absense of oxygen. It occurs when the demand for energy is higher then the bodys ability to transport oxygen to that cell. |
| Formula of Anaerobic Respiration | Glucose → Lactic acid+ energy or C6H12O6 -> 2C3H6O3 |
| Photosynthesis | The process by which plants convert light energy from sun into chemical energy , stored as glucose. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of the palisade layer |
| Photosynthesis formula | Carbon dioxide+ water → Glucose + oxygen or 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2. |
| Influences on the rate of Photosynthis | -Carbon dioxide -Water -Temperature -Light Intensity |
