Disaccharide A sugar molecule made up of two monosaccharides linked together, considered an oligosaccharide
Glycosidic Linkage Covalent bond formed by condensation reaction that connect a carbohydrate to another molecule, carbohydrate or other molecule
Starch Polysaccharide made from glucose chains, energy and nutrition source, fruits, vegetables, & grains
Glycogen Highly-branched storage polysaccharides, major form of stored glucose energy in animals
Cell Wall Fibrous membrane outside of plasma membrane, protection, structure, and movement of molecules in and out of cells
Cellulose Structured polysaccharide made from glucose monomer chains, plant cell wall structure
Chitin Structural polysaccharide, cell walls of fungi & algae, and exoskeletons of arthropods
Peptidoglycan Complex structural polysaccharide, bacteria cell walls, maintain shape & protect from external threats, mesh-like layer
