Linguistic Discrimination | Discrimination against someone because of how they speak, write, or sign. Example: A person being punished for speaking their native language as opposed to the region's official language would be a form of linguistic discrimination. |
Dyslexia | A specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. |
Elision | The omission of a sound or syllable when speaking. Example: "and": [ænd] -> "'n": [n] |
