Vitamin A Deficiency NIGHT BLINDNESS
excess beta-carotene can turn skin this color orange (but is harmless)
Vitamin D Deficiency RICKETS in children and OSTEOMALACIA in adults
Vitamin D milk is fortified with this vitamin
Rickets Symptoms weak+deformed bones+bowed legs+misshapen breastbone
Vitamin C Deficiency SCURVY
Scurvy Symptoms poor appetite + weakness + bruising + spotty skin + joint soreness
Calcium Deficiency OSTEOPOROSIS
OSTEOPOROSIS Causes bones to become porous and weak and fragile
PELLAGRA deficiency of niacin (B3)
BERIBERI deficiency of thiamine (B1)
